Exhibition held at Doon Varsity to underline role of Science Communication

Dehradun, 7 Jun: The students of Science Communication from the Department of Media and Communication Studies, Doon University, organised a Science Exhibition today under the guidance of their course advisor, Dr Rashi Mishra. The exhibition aimed to inculcate scientific temperament among the young minds of the University.

The Head of the Department, Dr Rajesh Kumar, appreciated the students’ hard work and talent. The event saw participation of other faculty members which included Aabshar Abbasi, Juhee Prasad and Dr Malashikha.

The exhibition featured demonstrations and thought-provoking presentations that highlighted the significance of Science Communication in every aspect of life. The visitors gained insights into intriguing concepts like the relationship between science and religion, overcoming superstitions and beliefs, the importance of scientific temper, menstruation and the social stigma surrounding it, and many such concepts. The Science Exhibition served as a platform for the students to showcase their creativity and knowledge in an interactive manner. Each exhibit was meticulously designed to captivate the audience and stimulate their curiosity about various scientific phenomena. From eye-catching models to interactive experiments, the students left no stone unturned in their quest to make science accessible and engaging for all.

Moreover, the exhibition shed light on the importance of scientific temper. The students underscored the significance of embracing a scientific approach to understanding the world around us, emphasising the role of evidence-based reasoning, logical thinking, and empirical observation in making informed decisions and addressing societal challenges.

The event received accolades from the visitors, who appreciated the efforts put in by the students and their course advisor, Dr Rashi Mishra.
