Dehradun, 17 Sep: Exile Creations, a social enterprise based in Dehradun, has achieved international recognition at the prestigious “Your Bead for Venice, 2025” competition organised by the International Society of Glass Beadmakers (ISGB). Artist Tenzin Phuntsok, a valued member of the Exile Creations team, won 3rd place — marking the first time a Tibetan artist from India has been honoured at this global event.
Founded in 2012 by Kalden Chophel and Ngawang Tsultrim, Exile Creations Pvt Ltd, specialises in handcrafted lampwork glass beads made from the finest Murano glass. For over 17 years, the organisation has also partnered with the Danish jewellery brand Trollbeads, with two of its artisans officially recognised as designers by them. Beyond artistry, the enterprise is deeply committed to providing skills training and sustainable employment to marginalised communities, including Tibetan youth living in exile, differently-abled individuals, and artisans from remote villages of Uttarakhand.
“This recognition is more than an award,” said the founders of Exile Creations. “It is a moment of pride for Tenzin and for all of us, as it shows the world the incredible talent and dedication of our artisans. We hope this will open new doors for him and for others who have devoted years of hard work to mastering this craft.”
