Dehradun, 24 Apr: School of Management, Graphic Era Hill University, organised a three day workshop on ‘Together we win’ & experiential learning- A journey from campus to corporate. This workshop was organised to make the management students industry-ready and become competent to face corporate challenges.
The three day workshop was conducted by Sanjay Joshi, Regional HR Director, South and South-East Asia, Intertek Ltd., who trained the students on managerial skills through interactive games. Management games like virtual volley ball, flag hoisting, municipal blues and reaching for the stars were introduced among the students. These games were played with an objective to inculcate skills like leadership, team spirit, lateral thinking, execution and formation of Strategy and effective communication.
The second day witnessed a brainstorming session including students who were placed in companies like Square Yards, ITC, HDFC, etc., with a package of more than Rs 16 lakh per annum. These students, who came along with their parents, shared their experiences and importance of such activity-based learning with their juniors.
It was a unique initiative to bring on board the three stakeholders under one roof i.e, Academia- Industry-Parent. On the occasion, Vice Chancellor, Graphic Era Hill University, Prof (Dr) Sanjay Jasola said that managerial skills like goal setting, team identity, creativity, values and behaviour are required to be a good manager.
The last day of the workshop concluded with group discussions, mock interviews and student feedback. The event was coordinated by Shilpa Wadhwa, faculty member, School of Management, along with other faculty members and students.
