Girls outshine boys in ISC results, U’khand records 99.26 percent success

Dehradun, 30 Apr: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi, has declared the results of the Class XII (ISC) examinations for the year 2026, with Uttarakhand recording an impressive qualified percentage of 99.26. Out of 5,520 candidates who appeared, 2,841 were boys and 2,679 were girls. Of these, 5,479 students qualified, leaving only 41 unsuccessful.

The statistics reveal that girls have once again outperformed boys, achieving a qualified percentage of 99.55 compared to 98.98 among boys. This consistent trend underscores the growing academic strength of female candidates in the state. The examination was conducted in 45 written subjects, including 13 Indian languages, 2 foreign languages and 2 classical languages, reflecting the diversity of academic choices available to students.

Category-wise performance also highlights strong results across the board. Among 521 candidates from Other Backward Classes, the qualified percentage stood at 98.66, while 4,711 candidates from the General Category achieved a qualified percentage of 99.30.

The Council has congratulated all successful candidates and noted that the results can be accessed through the official website. The outcome reflects the high standards of education in Uttarakhand and the commitment of schools and students alike. The ISC results this year reaffirm the state’s academic excellence and the growing participation of girls in shaping its educational achievements.
