Dehradun, 30 Jul: Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee President Ganesh Godiyal today urged party workers and all the booth level agents from Congress, the assembly in-charges and senior party leaders to participate with complete responsibility and vigour in the second phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. He emphasised that the purity and impartiality of the voters’ list is the foundation of democracy and underlined the need to ensure that every eligible voter’s name remains intact in the rolls while no genuine citizen is removed unnecessarily. Godiyal directed booth level agents, assembly in-charges and party office-bearers to maintain constant vigilance over the revision process in their respective areas, provide necessary information to eligible voters and immediately approach election officials for rectification if any objection or error arises regarding a voter’s name.
He reiterated that the Congress party has always been committed to safeguarding democratic values and protecting the voting rights of every eligible citizen. He appealed to all workers to coordinate effectively at the booth level, adhere to the guidelines laid down by the Election Commission and work diligently to make the SIR campaign a success. Expressing confidence in the organisation, Godiyal said that all party workers would play an active role in this crucial exercise with sincerity and dedication, thereby strengthening democracy and ensuring the protection of voters’ rights.
