Dehradun, 5 May: Vice Chancellor of Sridev Suman University Prof NK Joshi paid a courtesy visit on Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at the Raj Bhavan, here, on Friday. He provided information regarding the activities of the university to the Governor.

On this occasion, the Governor told the Vice-Chancellor that the University should organise Y-20 youth brainstorming programmes in all affiliated colleges to take forward the Prime Minister’s G-20 campaign. He said that this would give an opportunity to the youth to face global challenges. Through the Yuva Manthan model, there would be an opportunity to interact on topics of team building, international diplomacy, multilateral negotiations and national security, which would be beneficial for them. He said that this programme should be ensured in all the colleges.

Lt-General Singh asked the Vice-Chancellor to develop an ERP system in the university so that students do not have to come for their degrees, marksheets and migration certificates. He said that training should be organised for the faculty to make them aware of the latest technologies. For this, a Faculty Development Centre should be set up in the Rishikesh campus, so that the faculty of the colleges affiliated to the university can be suitably trained.

The Governor also directed the Vice-Chancellor to select a college affiliated to Sridev Suman University, in which girls can be prepared for competitive examinations like civil services, banking, defence services, etc. For this, the college should be suitable from the point of view of infrastructure and security of girls. He said that special attention should also be paid to the quality of education in the university.
