DEHRADUN, 10 Dec: Governor Baby Rani Maurya felicitated the winners of the State Level Painting Competition-2019 organised by the Uttarakhand Children Welfare Council at Raj Bhawan, here, today. The Governor appreciated the paintings made by the children and encouraged them to continue with their passion. Extending congratulations to the participants, Governor Maurya said that children’s imagination had no limits. It was matter of joy that children spread the message of environmental conservation, tree planting, and love of nature through their paintings. These paintings will be sent to the national level competition. The Governor added that the award winning paintings would inspire society. Posters of these paintings needed to be placed in offices and public places so that the children could be encouraged along with disseminating the good message to society. The Uttarakhand State Children Welfare Council organises the State Level Painting Competition every year. Children from all the districts participate in this competition. Selected paintings are sent to the national level competition. In the 5-8 year age group, Swati Kohli, Shagun and Naman Prasad got the first, second and third prizes, respectively. In the special category for the disabled, Virendra, Versha and Abheenit got the first, second and third prizes, respectively. Vice Chairperson of the Council Madhu Berry, Joint Secretary Kamleshwar Prasad Bhatt and several teachers were present on the occasion.
