Gov offers obeisance at Temple, Gurudwara for well-being of people

Dehradun, 1 Jan: On the first day of the New Year 2026, Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd), offered prayers at the Durga Mata Temple located at Survey Chowk, here, and paid obeisance at the Gurudwara in Garhi Cantt, praying for the happiness, prosperity, peace, and good health of the people of the state.

On this occasion, the Governor interacted with the officers and soldiers of the Indian Army’s 166 Medium Regiment and extended his New Year greetings to them. He said that soldiers are the strong shield safeguarding the nation, and it is due to their discipline, courage, and dedication to duty that the country’s borders remain secure.

The Governor expressed hope that the New Year would become a strong medium for the all-round development, social harmony, and prosperity of Uttarakhand, bring new inspiration for peace, public welfare, and development in the state, and infuse every citizen’s life with positive energy, harmony, trust, and renewed hope.
