Gov performs Rudrabhishek at Kedarnath Temple

Rudraprayag, 28 Oct: Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) visited the Kedarnath Dham on Monday to pay his respects to Baba Kedarnath. He performed Rudrabhishek and special prayers, wishing for the state’s progress and the welfare of the world. During his visit, he also gathered information about the ongoing reconstruction and development works in Kedarnath.

Upon his arrival, the District Magistrate of Rudraprayag, Dr Saurabh Gaharwar, welcomed the Governor at the VIP helipad with a bouquet of flowers. After acknowledging the officers and staff, the Governor met with the priests and the chief priest, performed rituals and greeted the gathered devotees while encouraging them to chant praises of Baba Kedarnath.

Lt Gen Singh expressed his fortune at being present on the sacred ground of Baba Kedarnath and noted that the Char Dham Yatra is in its final phase, with approximately 4.3 million pilgrims having completed their pilgrimage to all four shrines. He acknowledged the challenges faced during the journey but credited the smooth operation to the effective arrangements made by the administration and various rescue teams.

He inquired about the ongoing construction works at Kedarnath and commended the efforts of all officials, engineers, and workers who are tirelessly working under difficult conditions to make Kedarpuri divine and grand. He appreciated their contributions to these essential projects.

Present at the event were Chief Priest Shivshankar Ling, Chief Development Officer GS Khati, Police Sub-Inspector Prabodh Ghildiyal, Additional Chief Executive Officer of Kedarnath Development Authority, Yogendra Singh, Mahavir Tiwari, Laxmi Narayan Jugran, Om Prakash Shukla, Rajkumar Tiwari, Umesh Posti, Vinod Shukla, Sanjay Tiwari, along with other officials, staff, security forces, and devotees.
