Dehradun, 19 Apr: St Joseph’s Academy organised a health awareness talk for students of Classes 8 and 9 on the theme of adolescent health and well-being. The session, held on Saturday, was conducted by two medical professionals, Dr Deepak Garg, Robotic and Renal Transplant Surgeon and Principal Consultant at Max Hospital, and Dr Sumita Prabhakar, Gynaecologist and Director of MS Galaxy Multispeciality Hospital, Dehradun.

The Principal, Bro Joseph M Joseph and the coordinators warmly welcomed the guest speakers with planters. The talk addressed the physical, emotional, and psychological changes that young adolescents experience during this critical stage of development. Both boys and girls attended the session, with the doctors speaking to the students in an age-appropriate and sensitive manner, encouraging open dialogue and awareness. The students were encouraged to ask their doubts in the questionnaire round and were patiently replied to.

In a gesture of appreciation, a memento was presented to the guest speakers at the conclusion of the session. The initiative was well received by students and faculty alike, and reflects the school’s commitment to the holistic well-being of its students.
