DEHRADUN, 14 May: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the National Homeopathic Conference, ‘Homeocon-2023’, at Doon University, here, on Sunday. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also launched a documentary on homeopathy. He also felicitated doctors who have done commendable work in the field of homeopathy.
Recalling the father of homeopathy, Samuel Christian Hahnemann, Chief Minister Dhami appreciated that he developed a treatment method in the form of homeopathy, which was very effective as well as economical. He said that the body is the only means to fulfill all one’s duties. It is the first duty of a person to protect the body and keep it healthy. If one is healthy, one can do everything in life. With lifestyles changing rapidly, it has become all the more necessary that care is taken of the body as much as possible.
He added that, due to the untiring efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, all the ancient Indian systems of medicine, including Yoga and Ayurveda, as well as Homeopathy, are finding their proper place. Whether it has been the formation of the Ministry of AYUSH or the celebration of International Yoga Day, it is because of the vision of the Prime Minister that people are adopting the traditional systems of medicine. A separate Ministry of AYUSH was formed in 2014. The state government too is trying to bring AYUSH into the mainstream in Uttarakhand.
The Chief Minister reminded that Homeopathy has been recognised by the World Health Organisation as the second most prevalent system of medicine in the world. “We all have seen very closely the importance of traditional medicine including homeopathy medicines in the Corona period, after which the acceptance of homeopathy has been huge worldwide,” he declared. “Due to these positive results, homeopathy has got a place as a major medical syste, in the new health policy. The state government is determined to establish Devbhoomi as an important AYUSH region.”
He added that, in a state like Uttarakhand, which has a difficult geography, the importance of AYUSH and especially homeopathy medical system increases further due to its being economical and effective. He expressed hope that discussions and deliberations in this workshop would give more momentum to the development of homeopathy.
Union Minister of State Ashwini Kumar Choubey said that, in Uttarakhand, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state has promoted homeopathy and AYUSH rapidly. He said that homeopathy is an effective way of treating the most complex diseases. Devbhoomi Uttarakhand has been an inspiration for AYUSH. He added there should be more research on homeopathy.
