Hindi Diwas celebrated at AIIMS Rishikesh

Dehradun, 14 Sep: A virtual programme was organised at AIIMS Rishikesh on the occasion of Hindi Diwas. Director Professor Ravikant said that more staff in the institute should make a habit of working in Hindi.
Weekly competitive events were organised at AIIMS Rishikesh as part of Hindi Week. On Monday, Professor Ravikant explained the importance of Hindi language in a virtual programme. He said that this language was the essential language of the country. Apart from being a simple language, Hindi is a common language written and read by almost every person. Officers, faculty, staff, students and resident practitioners from various departments of the institute participated over the virtual medium in the Hindi Essay Competition organised on this occasion.
The programmes organised over the week were speech competition, dictation competition, slogan writing competition and poetry recitation, etc.
A dictionary was presented to Sandeep Singh, librarian of AIIMS. This dictionary will be kept in the central library of AIIMS. Awards were presented to the winners over the virtual medium by Prof Ravikant at the conclusion of the programme. Employees working in Hindi throughout the year were also felicitated. On this occasion, the Dean (Academic) Prof Manoj Gupta, Dean (Hospital Administration) Prof UB Mishra, Deputy Director (Administration) Anshuman Gupta, Official Language Officer Rajiv Chaudhary, etc., were among those present.
