Srinagar (Garhwal), 17 Dec: A student team from Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University has made the university proud at the national level by securing fourth place in the National Entrepreneurship Challenge (NEC) organised by the Entrepreneurship Cell of IIT Bombay.
Following this achievement, the student team paid a courtesy visit on the University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof Shriprakash Singh. The Vice Chancellor congratulated the team on this significant national achievement and commended the students’ hard work, innovative thinking, and entrepreneurial potential. He stated that such achievements not only boost students’ self-confidence but also strengthen the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within the university.
Prof MM Semwal, Chief Student Advisor of Garhwal University, also congratulated the students, emphasising discipline, dedication, and persistent effort as the foundations of success. On this occasion, team leader Suraj Kumar explained that teamwork played a key role in this success. They shared the challenges, experiences, and learnings they faced during the competition and presented a prototype of their innovative idea to the Vice Chancellor. Following the discussion, the Vice Chancellor provided guidance on further developing their idea and pursuing the patent process.
Dr Digger Singh, Faculty Advisor for the programme, shared detailed information about the students’ demonstration and praised the team’s efforts and collective participation. On this occasion, Professor Hemvati Nandan, Director of the Research and Development Cell (RDC), Dr Rohit Maher, Coordinator of the Technology Pre-Incubation Cell (TPIC), Dr Bhaskaran, and Dr Varun Barthwal, as well as the University’s Public Relations Officer, Ashutosh Bahuguna, and Assistant Registrar, SP Badal, congratulated the student team on this achievement. They stated that this achievement is a matter of pride for HNB Garhwal University and is a strong testament to the university’s continued efforts to promote innovation, entrepreneurial education, and student-led initiatives.
