MoU signed with Amazon

Dehradun, 5 Jul: An MoU was signed between Uttarakhand’s umbrella brand “House of Himalayas” and Amazon India at the Secretariat here, today, in the presence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister formally launched “House of Himalayas” on the e-marketing portal of Amazon India. The Chief Minister also purchased local products of Uttarakhand.
The Chief Minister stated that the “House of Himalayas” brand was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Investors’ Summit in the month of December. He said that the purpose of launching this brand is to take the local products of the state to the global level.
The Chief Minister said that most of the processing and production of the products included in the “House of Himalayas” brand is done through self-help groups. Through which efforts are being made to strengthen the livelihood of women self-help groups.
The Chief Minister said that through various e-marketing portals, local products of the state can be purchased online from every region of the country and the world.
He directed the Secretary, Rural Development, to categorise various products of the “House of Himalayas” brand such as GI tagged products, organic products, food products, aromatic products and do their category wise branding.
