Dehradun, 20 Nov: HaritaDhara Research Development and Education Foundation (HRDEF) celebrated its 10th Foundation Day as Harita fortnight and various functions and events were organised during this period. HRDEF celebrated Children’s Day, Guru Nanak Jayanti, and Foundation Day on 14–15 November.

It began with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Retired Chief Engineer Vijay Kumar in its campus. HRDEF’s objective is to enhance learners’ knowledge about disasters, climate action, water, forest, land, 21st Century skills, technological skills, personality development, and capacity building on SDGs, STEAM, Sustainable Development.

Anant Bhaskar Garg, Director, HRDEF, talked about climate action, SDGs, Disasters, and summary of HRDEF journey in last ten years in which main points were: 1. Free Mobile App Development Programme for Girls (Technovation), 2. Design thinking workshop (Design-a-thon), 3. Presented our work @ HundrED, Finland, virtually being selected in global spotlight on Gamified Curricula, 4. Conducted Side event on Education, Games, Hands-on Approach for Sustainability @UN HLPF event in July.

Prize distribution was conducted for various activities performed during the year 2023-24. HRDEF facilitated Prayanshi, Youth Coordinator, for her initiative to start ‘Code for Good’ club to teach app development and coding to girls. Students of Gyandhara (GOAL) performed dance, role play, and involved in model making from waste items, plastic.

On the occasion of Igas Parv, HRDEF conducted a workshop at Brahmawala Khala learning centre started with its support and now managed by its alumna, Neetu. HRDEF partnered with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in which various workshops are conducted at schools, colleges, universities with objectives to raise awareness related to Quality, Standards, and Consumer Rights among youth, and community members. Sarita Tripathi of SETU Foundation conveyed her blessings for well-being of students. Dr Manisha talked in length with students, coordinated these programmes effectively and students shared about their experiences, learning @HRDEF that made a lot of difference in their life such as confidence, personality improvement. Makers, Design, computing, coding, games, hands-on activities are main thrust areas for the programes. Riya, Vaishnavi, Santoshi conducted a quiz activity. Because of contributions, untiring support from Vijay, Suman, Sushma, Manisha, Anant, Apoorve, Minal, Pranya, Prayanshi, Parents, students, Sweety, Kanika, Aashi, Suhani, Priya, and all other students made these events memorable.
