Joshimath, 27 Jul: On Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Ibex Brigade paid tribute to the martyrs through commemorative events and public awareness programmes across various locations in Uttarakhand. The objective of these events was to honor the extraordinary valor, courage, and supreme sacrifice of the immortal heroes of the Kargil War, as well as to strengthen the spirit of patriotism and national unity among the youth and citizens.
To mark Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Ibex Brigade organised a series of heartfelt events in border areas to pay homage to the immortal heroes of the 1999 Kargil conflict. A “Kargil Vijay Diwas Walkathon” was held at the Joshimath Military Station, witnessing enthusiastic participation from soldiers, veterans, children, and military families. During the subsequent tribute ceremony, officers and soldiers laid floral wreaths in honor of the immortal martyrs.
At war memorials located in the border regions of Uttarakhand, the martyrs were honored with solemn and reverent tributes in accordance with military traditions. The national flag was hoisted with pride, and candles were lit at the war memorials to pay homage to the Kargil heroes. On this occasion, soldiers conducted a disciplined flag march, and tree plantation drives were also carried out in memory of the martyrs. The entire military area resonated with chants of “Jai Hind” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”.
