Dehradun, 22 Nov: An Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship (IDE) Boot Camp has begun at Graphic Era Hill University.
In this two-day boot camp, teachers will be taught better entrepreneurial and innovative skills to educate school children. Joint Director, State Directorate of Industries, Dr Deepak Murari, was the Chief Guest at the inaugural session of the boot camp. He said that the objective of this camp is to connect school children with entrepreneurial skills and innovation. For this, teachers will be trained in the boot camp. He told the teachers that they should empower the students to give jobs and not to do jobs for someone. Dr Murari also threw light on the existing government schemes for startups.
Innovation Officer of the Ministry of Education, Innovation Cell, Abhishek Ranjan asked the teachers to promote the innovative ideas of the students. He said that children in the mountains do not have many facilities, so it is the duty of the teachers to introduce the students to new skills and techniques so that they can also get opportunities.
Wadhwani Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Educator Dr Ruchi Gautam Pant threw light on the aspects of innovation through slides. She called upon the teachers to take the startups forward and stay connected with the technical field. The programme was organised in the Prof KP Nautiyal Auditorium of Graphic Era Hill University by Intellectual Property Rights and Institution’s Innovation Council in collaboration with Graphic Era Hill University.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Sanjay Jasola, Head of IPR, IIC Dr Arun Pratap Singh, Dean, Pharmacy, Dr Nardev Singh, Prof Neelam Kathait and teachers were present at the programme, which was hosted by Anshu Sharma.
