IEEE Day-2024 event held at Women’s Technology Institute

Dehradun, 6 Oct: A three-day ‘IEEE Day-2024’ event, held from 3 to 5 October, was held at Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University Campus, by the Women’s Institute of Technology, Dehradun.

IEEE WIT Student Branch Counsellor KC Mishra said that the programme was organised by IEEE WIT Student Branch and IEEE WIT Women-in-Engineering Affinity Group. This was done successfully with the help of the Uttar Pradesh Section.

The first day of the programme was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor Professor Onkar Singh. Along with him, the institute Director, Professor Manoj Kumar Panda, also addressed the students. Due to Sharad Navratri, the programme was named “IEEE Day-2024 Navrang”.

The first session began with an address by Professor Onkar Singh. The history of the IEEE day was also highlighted. The work done and achievements of IEEE WIT Student Branch were presented to everyone through PPT and video. The website of IEEE WIT Student Branch was also launched.

In the afternoon, at the beginning of the Navrang session, the speaker, Engineer Khushbu Gairola (Young Entrepreneur), taught the students the qualities of becoming a successful entrepreneur. A cultural evening was also organised in which all the students thoroughly enjoyed the Garba and Dandiya dance.

The programme concluded on 5 October. Institute Director Prof Manoj Kumar Panda and Student Branch Counsellor KC Mishra awarded certificates and prizes to students who got first/second/third position in various competitions. Mishra expressed his gratitude to Student Branch Chair Jessica Baranwal, WIE Chair Bhavika Bhatt, Student Event Coordinator Priyanshi Karakoti, Yashi Dwivedi and all the 37 girl students of WIT Student Branch for the successful completion of IEEE Day 2024.
