Dehradun, 16 Jul: The National Hydrographic Office convened a maiden workshop themed “Indigenisation: Initiative of INHD towards Self Reliance”, here, recently. The event gathered distinguished industry experts specialising in hydrographic equipment and software, underscoring a pivotal moment for advancing local capabilities.

Vice Admiral Lochan Singh Pathania, Chief Hydrographer to the Government of India, delivered the opening address, emphasising the criticality of collaborative efforts to propel indigenous innovation and self-sufficiency. The workshop featured comprehensive presentations and interactive sessions highlighting the significance of indigenisation in hydrographic technologies.

The distinguished participants included subject matter experts from the Directorate of Indigenisation (DOI), Directorate of Hydrography (DOH), Technology Development and Acceleration Centre (TDAC), Weapons and Electronics Systems Engineering Establishment (WESEE) and associated industry partners. Throughout the workshop, all the attendees engaged in constructive dialogues aimed at identifying opportunities and overcoming challenges in fostering domestically developed solutions.

This inaugural workshop marks a significant step towards Aatmanirbharta by enhancing indigenous capabilities in hydrography, reflecting shared commitment to innovation and self- reliance.
