Kumbh priority for vaccine distribution: CM

Dehradun, 24 Nov: Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said at the meeting with the PM, today, that there was reason to hope that very soon the experts would be successful in preparing a vaccine for Covid-19. Strategies were being prepared in a planned manner for the priorities at the state government level.
He requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the Maha Kumbh is to be held in Haridwar from January to April, 2021, in which a large number of officers, employees, police forces and health workers would be deployed. It was, therefore, also important to keep Haridwar Kumbh in mind when making vaccine available to the state.
The Chief Minister disclosed that a steering committee had been formed at the state level for vaccination. Task forces had been formed at the district level and their meetings were also being held regularly.
Also present on this occasion were Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Chief Ministers of all states, Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Om Prakash, DGP, Law and Order, Ashok Kumar, Secretary, Health, Amit Negi, etc.
