Dehradun, 5 Feb: Following the polling held today for the Delhi Assembly, the BJP has claimed a landslide victory, attributing its anticipated success to the support of migrant Uttarakhandis. Uttarakhand BJP Chief and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt today claimed some of the historic and decisive actions of the Dhami government would play a significant role in BJP’s win in Delhi.

Addressing media persons through various platforms, Mahendra Bhatt based his confidence on “feedback received from the Delhi elections”. He claimed that Uttarakhandis have consistently supported the principles of nationalism and development. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand is progressing on the fundamental mantras of development and heritage. This progress has strengthened the support of over 2.3 million Uttarakhandi migrants residing in Delhi for the BJP.

Bhatt also added that, in recent years, Uttarakhand has witnessed several historic and bold decisions, including steps toward implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), laws against illegal conversions and riots, and actions addressing unlawful activities. Additionally, stringent anti-cheating laws have been enacted, and a record number of jobs have been provided to the youth. The development of safe, prosperous homes and villages in the state has further reinforced the faith of Uttarakhandi migrants living in Delhi in the BJP.

The BJP MP claimed that during the election campaign, the efforts of party leaders and workers from Uttarakhand, under the leadership of Chief Minister Dhami, appear to be yielding positive results. The large crowds gathered at rallies, roadshows, and meetings have bolstered the party’s prospects. The enthusiasm seen among voters in migrant-dominated areas, both during the campaign and on voting day, is unprecedented in the last two decades of assembly elections.

Bhatt expressed confidence that the public has decisively supported the BJP to transform the capital into a developed city across more than a dozen Uttarakhandi dominated assembly seats in Delhi. He asserted that BJP is fully confident that when the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) are opened on 8 February, the mandate will come in favour of the BJP’s double-engine government.
