L&T officials meet CM, hand over cheque of Rs 5 crores for Relief Fund

New Delhi, 8 Oct: A delegation from Larsen & Toubro (L&T) called on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in New Delhi today and handed over a cheque amounting to Rs 5 crores as financial assistance on behalf of the company to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The contribution is aimed at supporting people affected by recent natural calamities in Uttarakhand and strengthening the ongoing relief and rehabilitation operations. It may be recalled that CM Dhami is currently on a two-day tour to New Delhi.

On this occasion, Dhami extended his gratitude to the L&T representatives for their generous contribution and lauded the company’s sense of social responsibility. He observed that such support from the corporate sector would serve as a major aid to the state government in this hour of crisis. He asserted that the government has been according top priority to relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction work in the disaster-hit regions. He added that the participation of private entities would help expedite the process and ensure timely assistance to the affected families.

The CM further observed that Uttarakhand is a disaster-prone state, and it frequently faces natural adversities due to its geographical conditions. He reaffirmed that the state government has adopted several concrete measures to strengthen disaster management and enhance the capacity of its relief machinery. Senior officials from the L&T Group were present during the meeting.
