Mussoorie, 9 May: The Closing Ceremony of Manor Fest 2025, the Annual Inter-House Cultural Extravaganza of St George’s College was held on 8 May. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Mohena Kumari Singh, renowned Indian dancer and choreographer. She was introduced by Shubhashish Gupta of Class 11 and warmly welcomed with a potted plant.
The events held on the second day of the two-day fest included: Rangoli, Chalk Painting, Fancy Dress, Declamation, Khand Kavya, Hindi Storytelling, Choral Recitation, Dastangoi, English Recitation, Mime and Choreography.
The panel of judges for the various events was – Declamation, Choral Recitation and English Recitation: Sunita Rekhi, Vijaylaxmi Chinna and Atul Pundir; Khand Kavya, Hindi Storytelling and Dastangoi: Suman Tiwari, Shobha Jain, and Anuradha Trivedi; Chalk Painting, Rangoli and Fancy Dress: Pragati Bisht, Prashasti Pundir and Rahul Negi; Choreography and Mime: Manorma Negi, Minal Vashisht, Kartikey Barthwal and Ayush Kumar.
The programme culminated with the Closing Ceremony, during which Marthins House was declared the Overall Champion of Manor Fest 2025, while Tapsell’s House was awarded the Runners-Up Trophy.
Individual Champions in the Various Divisions were – Division 1: Alvin Joy Tigga (Gateley’s House) and Sarthak Semalti (Cullen’s House); Division 2: Mehtej Singh Sahani (Marthins’ House); Division 3: Kavya Bharti (Marthins’ House); Division 4: Christopher D’Souza (Marthins’ House).
The successful execution of the Closing Ceremony was made possible under the guidance and supervision of Brother Ramesh Amalanathan (Principal), Brother Felix Kumar (Vice-Principal & Sports Secretary), Deepali Ballabh
(Cultural Coordinator), Bhavnesh Negi, and the House Masters and House Mistresses of all four houses.
In her address, Chief Guest Mohena Kumari Singh, remarked, “St George’s College stands not only as a beacon of academic excellence but also as a cradle of cultural richness. I believe that a truly holistic education includes exposure to the arts — and here, I see that belief shining brilliantly.”
