Dehradun, 30 Jan: As part of the birthday celebrations of Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi (31 January), a felicitation ceremony for ASHAs (Accredited Social Health Activists) was organised today at his camp office under the service-oriented “Seva Saptah”.

Joshi participated in the programme and honoured the ASHAs, encouraging and appreciating their dedicated service.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Ganesh Joshi said that the occasion was a matter of great pride and honour for him. He stated that ASHAs are the real strength of society, who selflessly serve people by reaching every village and every household. He said that ASHAs are not just health workers, but pioneers of health awareness, protectors of maternal and child health, and true servants of society. He highlighted their remarkable contribution in vaccination drives, care of pregnant women, nutrition campaigns, and especially during the global COVID-19 pandemic, where they faced every challenge with courage and dedication. He said that when the entire country was confined to homes, ASHAs stood at the frontline serving the people, which is truly commendable.

The Minister further said that, in a hilly state like Uttarakhand, with its difficult and remote geographical conditions, the role of ASHAs becomes even more significant. ASHAs form a strong link that ensures the delivery of government welfare schemes to the last person. It is through their efforts that the vision of healthy villages, healthy families, and a healthy Uttarakhand is being realised. Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi assured that the state government remains fully committed to the welfare, facilities, and dignity of ASHAs, and will continue to work consistently toward their empowerment in the future.

On this occasion, BJP Metropolitan President Siddharth Agarwal, BJP Mahila Morcha State President Nirmala Joshi, Mandal President Pradeep Rawat, Jyoti Kotiya, Sandhya Thapa, Sameer Dobhal, Bhavna Chaudhary, along with several party workers, were also present.
