Dehradun, 5 May: The mortal remains of Uma Chauhan, a teacher and wife of BJP’s State Media In charge Manveer Chauhan, were cremated at Kharkhari Ghat in Haridwar today. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the residence of Manveer and Uma Chauhan here and met the grieving family. On this occasion, he prayed for the departed soul to and for the family to have strength in this difficult time.
Many others including former Chief Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal, several MLAs including Khajan Das, and other senior party leaders including the party’s general secretary (Organisation) Ajaey Kumar were present this morning at the residence of Manveer Chauhan to offer condolences when the mortal remains of Uma Chauhan departed for Haridwar. A large number of people and the party leaders were also present at the Kharkhari Ghat in Haridwar at the time of cremation.
It may be recalled that Uma Chauhan was suffering from cancer for a long time and was being treated at Kailash Hospital. She breathed her last yesterday at Kailash Hospital.
Earlier, BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had expressed their grief at the demise of Uma Chauhan.
