MUSSOORIE, 3 Dec: Following the appointment of Ramesh Pal Singh Chauhan, Professor of the Hindi Department, as Principal of MPG College, Mussoorie, he was accorded a grand welcome on the college campus by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the Students’ Union, and the college management. Students felicitated the new Principal by presenting him a shawl and a bouquet of flowers. A festive atmosphere prevailed on the campus, with students sharing their joy by sharing sweets with each other.
Students urged Principal Ramesh Pal Singh Chauhan to prioritise the college’s development and student interests. They expressed their appreciation for Mussoorie’s tourism status, stating that the city offers abundant opportunities for the hotel industry, and that introducing a hotel management course at the college would be extremely beneficial. They also raised the demand for not closing down the CBZ course. The students urged that vocational education should be promoted in the college and programmes should be included that can provide job opportunities along with studies. Principal Ramesh Pal Singh Chauhan stated that he has been serving the college for the past 35 years and is proud that Mussoorie MG College was once the number one college in Uttar Pradesh. He expressed his resolve that with the cooperation of all the teachers and staff, he would strive to make the college the best educational institution in Uttarakhand. He also stated that the work done by former principals and teachers for the college’s benefit cannot be overlooked. He stated that Municipal Council President Meera Saklani is also committed to the college’s development and is paying special attention to the introduction of a hotel management course.
Principal Chauhan urged teachers to cooperate fully in providing excellent education to the students. He urged students to come to college regularly, attend classes, and maintain discipline so that they can play their part in serving the country and society by studying here. He said that hundreds of students from Mussoorie and surrounding areas receive education here, so continuous efforts will be made to make it the best educational institution.
