MSME sponsored MDPs inaugurated at Uttaranchal University

DEHRADUN, 25 Jun: Uttaranchal University inaugurated MSME-sponsored two Management Development Programmes (MDP), here, today. The MDPs were held on the topics, “Sustainable Innovation and IPR”, and “Intellectual Property Rights”. These will be held till 29 June and are being coordinated by Prof Rajesh Singh and Prof Anita Gehlot.

The event started with the welcome of Pushkar Bisht, Assistant Director, DC-MSME, by Prof Dharam Buddhi, Vice Chancellor, Uttaranchal University.

Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi encouraged all participants to consider how patents can be leveraged to drive progress and create a sustainable future. Success hinges on out-of-the-box thinking and exploring unconventional solutions. By fostering a culture of innovation and creativity, businesses can drive progress and create a brighter future for all.

Pushkar Bisht praised the university for its meticulous planning and execution of the Management Development Programme. He emphasised that the programme has successfully provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of the vital role that intellectual property rights, especially patents, play in driving innovation and safeguarding creative efforts.

Prof (Dr) Rajesh Singh, Director of Research & Innovation, emphasised that innovations are key drivers of economic growth and startups. Despite challenges like securing funding and market competition, entrepreneurs must be resilient, adaptable, and forward-thinking.

Prof Sonal Sharma, Dean of USCS, emphasised that Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) are crucial for fostering innovation, protecting creative works, and driving economic growth. By safeguarding inventors’ and creators’ rights, IPR ensures they receive due recognition and financial benefits, encouraging further innovation.

Resource persons of MDP on sustainable innovation & IPR were Dr Amit Bhatt, Dr Jitendra Singh, Dr Lakshmi Priya Vinjamuri, Dr Rakesh Kumar, and resource persons of MDP on Intellectual property rights, Dr Sonal Sharma, Dr Ishteeyaq Ahmad, Dr Sameer Dev Sharma and Dr Monisha Awasthi.
