DEHRADUN, 13 Sept: In an effort to strengthen public services and resolve citizens’ grievances at their doorstep, a multi–purpose camp will be organised under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Savin Bansal on Monday, the 15th of this month in Kalsi block. The camp is scheduled to take place in the field near Baisogilani in Utail village of Kalsi block, located about 19 kilometres from Kalsi on the Bairatkhai road. Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah informed that district-level officers will be present to address issues directly and departmental stalls will be set up to provide information on a wide range of government schemes.
The DM shared that this initiative aims to ensure basic amenities and timely resolution of public grievances, particularly in remote areas. He has directed the departments concerned to attend with full preparation, carry application forms and complete information about their schemes, and ensure that beneficiaries receive the advantages of various welfare programmes on the spot.
The camp will involve active participation from the Social Welfare, Women Welfare and Probation Departments for verification of cases related to old age pensions, widow pensions, disabled pensions, farmer pensions and assistance for abandoned women. Forms for scholarships, the National Family Benefit Scheme and marriage grants will also be processed. In addition, UDID cards for persons with disabilities will be issued through DDRC, and artificial limbs and aids will be distributed alongside identifying and treating malnourished children.
The Health Department will also organise a two-tier service at the camp, comprising a general health check-up and the issuance of disability certificates. These certificates will later be digitised and handed over to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM). The RBSK team will survey malnourished children and provide treatment, while separate facilities will be available for de-addiction counselling, family welfare, immunisation, nutrition support and free medical services for pregnant women. A dedicated CHC counter will issue Atal Ayushman cards on the spot, while services will also include eye check-ups and free distribution of spectacles. The ICDS Department will identify malnourished infants, adolescent girls and women, and provide nutrition supplements, besides accepting forms for Nanda Gaura Yojana, PM Matru Vandana Yojana, Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Kit and Kishori Kit.
The Rural Development Department is directed to deal with the applications relating to MGNREGA, issue job cards, resolve payment problems, register applications for PMAY housing and extend benefits under NRLM and REAP schemes. The Panchayati Raj Department will provide family register copies and assist with birth and death registrations. The Employment Department will organise a job fair and guide youth on employment opportunities, while the Education Department will facilitate services connected to MDM, RMSA and RTE schemes. The Food Department will verify, amend and correct ration cards and issue new ones under the State Food Scheme, while the Agriculture and Horticulture Departments will handle distribution of seeds, pesticides and small farm equipment along with addressing farmers’ problems. Cooperative, Sericulture, Fisheries and Dairy Departments will also participate by enrolling members in cooperative societies, distributing food seeds and selecting beneficiaries for KCC loans.
The Electricity and Drinking Water Departments has been asked to ensure correction and payment of electricity and water bills and offer new connections. Departments such as Public Works, NHAI and PMGSY will address grievances linked to highways, state and rural roads, while the Irrigation Department will take up issues relating to expansion of irrigation capacity. Industries and Khadi Village Industries Departments has been directed to accept applications for self-employment and organise training sessions, while the Revenue Department will handle Aadhaar card amendments and cases of income, caste, character, residence and undisputed inheritance certificates. The Lead Bank will extend banking linkages for deprived families, enrol people under PM Jeevan Jyoti, PM Jeevan Suraksha and CCL, and process applications for self-employment. Tourism Department officials will select beneficiaries under the Homestay and Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Self-Employment Schemes, and the Labour Department will issue and renew labour cards, distribute materials to registered workers and also conduct registrations under UCC.
The DM has appealed to residents of Kalsi block and surrounding areas to actively participate in the camp to avail the benefits of multiple government schemes and to resolve their grievances efficiently.
