CM felicitates meritorious students who passed classes 10 and 12 at Amar Ujala event

Dehradun, 28 Jul: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a ceremony held at the IRDT Auditorium, Survey Chowk, to honour meritorious students who have passed 10th and 12th examination with flying colours. The programme was organised by Hindi daily Amar Ujala. On this occasion, the Chief Minister felicitated 94 meritorious students on behalf of the state government.
While addressing the meritorious students, CM Dhami said he was feeling proud to meet the best students of the state, who have shown that one can reach the top based on the strength of one’s talent and hard work. He said that there is no substitute for hard work in life. All the challenges of life can be faced with proper education. There should be a sense of devotion towards education.
He also reminded the students that achieving merit in school examinations is just an initial step in life and that they must be ready to face new challenges at every step, which they will have to overcome with the power of discretion and intelligence. There is no substitute for hard work and no short cut can ever lead one to permanent success.
Dhami observed that the examination in life does not always come through the question paper alone. Many times, the solution to such challenges can be found only by applying due intelligence and discretion. He called upon the students to work towards becoming leaders in whatever field they get an opportunity to work and to give their best. Facing the challenges patiently and achieving the destination on the strength of one’s efforts is the key to real success. The Chief Minister said that the social and economic development of any country depends on the quality of education being provided to the students in that country.
In the year 2020, the New Education Policy (NEP-2020) was put before the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in order to deal with the challenges of the new era. With the NEP, school education and higher education will get new dimensions, and besides this, the NEP will also provide opportunities to all classes of people to get education on the basis of equality. Skill development at school level will make youth efficient. Through the NEP, along with employment-oriented education, children will also be helped in achieving success in competitive examinations. The NEP will also encourage research and research and develop scientific thinking among the students. He said that Uttarakhand is the first state in the country which has implemented the NEP in school education.
Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat said that rapid efforts are being made in the state for qualitative improvement in the field of education. The names of 5 universities from Uttarakhand rank at the national level. This time, the maximum number of youth from the state got selected in the NDA and CDS exams. For the first time in the state, the work of honouring the meritorious has been done by the Chief Minister. The state government is dedicated towards a better future of the students. Four scholarship schemes are being run by the government for meritorious children. He said that the principals have been nominated for alternative arrangements for lecturers and LT teachers of the schools. Marks improvement exam is also being organised in the state for the first time.
Director General of Education, Banshidhar Tiwari, Consultant Editor of Amar Ujala, Uday Sinha, Resident Editor of Amar Ujala, Dayashankar Shukla, Vice Chancellors and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
