Dehradun, 24 Jun: The Dehradun Municipal Corporation (Doon Nagar Nigam) administration has taken stern action against an outsourced employee for indiscipline and misbehaviour with senior officials inside the office premises. Acting on the approval of the Municipal Commissioner, the services of Upendra Thapa, engaged through outsourcing agency RK Association, have been terminated with immediate effect.
Thapa, originally posted in the record room and recently assigned to SIR, had already attracted complaints for repeated absenteeism without notice and negligence in duty. Today, however, he reportedly entered the chamber of the Assistant Municipal Commissioner in a drunken state, misbehaved with the officer and obstructed official work. The incident was taken seriously by the Municipal Commissioner, who ordered his immediate removal.
The administration clarified that no compromise will be tolerated with official discipline or the dignity of officers and employees under any circumstances. It reiterated that strict measures will continue against any element indulging in misconduct or creating disorder within the corporation premises.
