Haldwani, 24 Apr: Nainital MP and former Union Minister Ajay Bhatt has strongly reacted to the terror attack in Pahalgam on Tuesday. He asserted that the Indian government will deliver a fitting response to this cowardly act by Pakistan. It may be recalled that the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which claimed 28 lives, has drawn widespread condemnation across the nation.
Bhatt remarked that Pakistan has a history of perpetrating such acts of terror, to which India has always responded decisively through the government and its armed forces. He assured that this time too, Pakistan would face very serious consequences of its actions.
Bhatt remined that following the Pahalgam attack, the Indian government has already taken five significant measures, including halting the Indus Water Treaty and expelling Pakistani diplomats. Welcoming these decisions, Bhatt hinted at further impactful measures in the coming days which would intensify pressure on Pakistan.
Expressing personal outrage over the attack, Bhatt condemned the targeting of individuals based on their religion, which has sparked anger across the country. He noted that the condemnation of this incident transcends caste, religion, and political affiliations, uniting the nation in its grief and fury.
Bhatt emphasised that the perpetrators of such attacks must realise that India will not be subdued. He stated that Pakistan is undoubtedly unsettled by the firm actions taken by the Indian government in response to the attack.
He further highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s directive to the army and paramilitary forces, instructing them to respond decisively to any terrorist aggression. Bhatt assured that this incident would not go unanswered, and the terrorists responsible would face a fitting retaliation.
