Garhwal Post Bureau
Dehradun, 24 Jun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt today addressed a crucial meeting of BJP state cells and morchas here. Addressing the leaders here, today, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami generously praised the party workers and asserted that the capacity, experience and dedication of party workers have made the BJP invincible. He emphasised that the cells (called locally as prakoshth) must now take the government’s work to every section of society to make the party’s victory even more decisive. Stressing that for the BJP politics is a medium of service, Dhami stated this is why disaster management, NGOs and tourism cells hold special importance, reflecting that the party works among the people while the opposition remains confined to social media.

The CM described the BJP as a living ideology committed to nation-building, reaching out to every section of society through its cells. He noted that the party has established cells in diverse fields such as medicine, cooperatives, culture, business, disaster management, tourism and sports, and urged members to combine their expertise with the party’s experience to connect government initiatives with the people. He said the BJP differs from other parties because it works for society 365 days a year, not just during elections, treating politics as service rather than a pursuit of power.
He praised the expansion of the organisation to include disaster management and self-help group cells, pointing out that Uttarakhand, as a sensitive Himalayan state, has faced disasters with courage. He urged disaster management coordinators to prepare teams of youth at block level to act as first responders during crises, instilling confidence among people that BJP workers stand by them in every difficulty. Similarly, he highlighted the role of self-help group cells in empowering women, noting that millions of women are achieving economic independence through such groups. He referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of making three crore women ‘Lakhpati Didis’ by 2029 and said the state government is working to realise this vision through schemes such as the Chief Minister Aanchal Amrit Yojana and horizontal reservation of 30% for women.
Dhami also stressed on the importance of the tourism cell, given the sector’s central role in Uttarakhand’s economy. He said under the Prime Minister’s guidance, Uttarakhand is being developed as the spiritual capital of the world, with reconstruction and modernisation of religious sites in Manaskhand and Kedarkhand. He pointed out that pilgrim numbers have risen sharply, with the Char Dham Yatra breaking records as 40 lakh devotees visited in just two months, while 45,000 people travelled to Adi Kailash in one and a half months. He urged the tourism cell to guide local youth about the transformation in facilities and opportunities.
He called upon the party cells to become effective mediums of service, organisation and public awareness, taking government achievements and schemes to the people. Criticising the opposition, he said Congress has neither policy, nor intent, nor leadership, and has reduced Uttarakhand to corruption and appeasement when in power. He asserted that BJP has enacted laws against conversion, riots and illegal encroachments, and taken action against unlawful structures, while the opposition has been disturbed by these measures. He assured that, as long as BJP governs Devbhoomi, its demography will not be allowed to change and illegal occupations will not be tolerated.
Dhami accused the opposition of limiting itself to social media during disasters and added that in sharp contrast to them, BJP workers serve on the ground. He recalled personally reaching ground zero during calamities in Dharali, Syana Chatti, Silkyara tunnel, Joshimath, Rudraprayag, Paudi, Dehradun and Bageshwar. He said people know that under Modi’s leadership, the double-engine government works with the spirit of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’, which is why voters across the country are choosing BJP governments. He predicted that soon from Attock to Cuttack and Kashmir to Kanyakumari, the entire nation will be governed by BJP.
He urged all cells to advance their activities in mission mode, listen to people’s problems and convey them directly to the government, assuring that the doors of governance are always open. He said the trust of the people is the party’s greatest strength.
State President and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt, in his address, said that cells are the party’s strength as they connect with all sections of society, including those who may not be BJP workers but support its ideology and leadership. He urged cells to take government programmes and schemes to such people so they play a vital role in elections. He directed all the party cells to complete team formation up to the mandal level and ensure outreach to every section, with the goal of making the lotus bloom at every booth.
BJP State General Secretary Kundan Parihar, BJP State Cell Convenor Kustubhanand Joshi and convenors and co-convenors of all 22 state cells were among those present on the occasion.
