Peace committee meeting held in Mussoorie regarding Barawafat

Mussoorie, 4 Sep: A peace committee meeting was organised by SSI KK Singh at Mussoorie Kotwali today to maintain harmony in the area on the occasion of Barawafat.

Representatives of the police, administration, local dignitaries and various communities participated in the meeting. During the meeting, Kuldi Masjid in-charge Manzoor Ahmed said that only Namaaz will be offered in the mosque on the day of Barawafat. He clarified that no procession or public programme of any kind will be held on this occasion in the Mussoorie area. This tradition has been going on for long and the same will be followed this year also.

On behalf of the police administration, SSI KK Singh appealed to everyone to celebrate the festival in a peaceful and brotherly atmosphere. He also assured that full security arrangements will be made in the area, so that any kind of rumour or activities of anti-social elements can be stopped. In the meeting, representatives of all communities assured the administration of their cooperation and said that all the festivals in the area have been celebrated with mutual understanding and harmony for years.
