Dehradun, 3 May: The portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham were opened on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya today. With this, the Char Dham Yatra has officially begun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was present at the opening of the doors of Gangotri Dham. The first puja was performed in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chief Minister Dhami offered prayers at Gangotri and wished for the prosperity of the people of the state.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that Chardham Yatra had duly started from today and he welcomed all the devotees on their arrival in Devbhoomi. He also prayed for a historic yatra season and safe and smooth Chardham Yatra for all the devotees visiting the shrines. He said that his government is fully committed to a smooth and safe Yatra.
He also spoke to the chief priests of Yamunotri Dham over the phone and conveyed his best wishes to them and the devotees present on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya and opening of the portals of Yamunotri Dham.
