Press Club hosts Dr RP Nailwal Memorial Cricket Tournament

Dehradun, 28 Nov: The Dr RP Nailwal Memorial Cricket Tournament, organised by the Uttaranchal Press Club, kicked off today with great enthusiasm.  Chief Guest, SSP, Dehradun, Ajai Singh inaugurated the competition by hitting a shot on the ball. In the second innings, Chief Guest and Director General of Information, Banshidhar Tiwari, also encouraged the players by hitting a shot. Five teams are participating in the tournament.

SSP Ajai Singh remarked that sports have a profound impact on health and are essential for maintaining a healthy life. He acknowledged the challenge journalists face in taking time out from their busy routines to play sports but noted their enthusiasm on the cricket field, underscoring the fact that sports are an important part of their lives. He assured all possible support to the journalists.

During the second innings, today, Chief Guest Banshidhar Tiwari inspired the players to play with sportsmanship. He highlighted the health benefits for journalists who take time out from their busy schedules to play. He said that the tournament not only promotes sports among journalists but also provides a great opportunity for them to stay mentally and physically fit.

Press Club President Ajay Rana thanked all the guests and encouraged the players to play with sportsmanship. District Cricket Association Secretary Vijay Pratap Malla, along with Press Club Senior Vice President Rashmi Khatri, Sports Coordinator and Observer Manoj Jayada, Executive Member Vinod Pundir, and Club Members Devendra Singh Negi, Ashish Uniyal, Rajendra Uniyal, Arun Sharma, Rakesh Bijalwan, and Anil Chandola were present at the event.
