Dehradun, 30 Dec: Senior BJP leader Ravindra Jugran today called on the Chief Secretary and the Secretary, Health and Medical Education, today, and submitted a detailed representation raising concerns about the misuse of the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) certification process.
In his letter, Jugran has alleged that ineligible individuals are being fraudulently issued EWS certificates. This, he reminded, is depriving genuinely eligible candidates of their rightful benefits. He urged a thorough investigation to curb such malpractices.
Acting on Jugran’s representation, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi directed the Additional Chief Secretary (Personnel) Anand Bardhan to initiate an expedited investigation into the matter. Meanwhile, the Secretary of Medical Education instructed the Director of Medical Education to compile and submit a detailed report addressing the concerns raised by Jugran.
Jugran has stressed on the urgency of the issue, stating that such fraudulent activities undermine the integrity of the welfare system and the rights of the deserving. He expressed hope that swift and decisive action would be taken to ensure fairness in the issuance of EWS certificates.
