Dehradun, 10 Jan: Dehradun-based NGO, Rural Litigation and Entitlement Kendra (RLEK), known for its contributions to human development and empowerment, conducted a Rural Financial Literacy Programme for villagers on 8-9 January.

The programme, supported by Eon Consultancy Private Limited, was held in Pantwari, Tehri District, nestled in the hills of Uttarakhand. This two-day event took place with the aim of educating rural communities about financial literacy and addressing their financial challenges.

The programme was inaugurated by the Chief Guests, Anuradha Yadav, Prashant Yadav, and retired Forest Inspector Upendra Rawat. On this occasion, RLEK Chairperson Pratima Menon welcomed the participants with an inspiring speech, encouraging them to actively engage in the programme and enhance their skills. She officially inaugurated the event with her blessings.

During the two-day event, various topics such as financial awareness, saving, budgeting, and online fraud prevention were discussed. RLEK volunteers provided in-depth knowledge on these subjects and used engaging plays to spread awareness.

At the conclusion of the programme, RLEK offered an open platform for villagers to discuss and resolve their financial issues. This marked the initial two days of a four-month-long Rural Financial Literacy Programme which will be held in the other parts of Uttarakhand as well.
