Almora, 25 May: Under the direction of Uttarakhand State Legal Services Authority, Nainital, and the guidance of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Almora, Shrikant Pandey, as per the orders of Secretary Shashi Sharma, in continuation of a two-day awareness campaign “Road Safety: Life Saving”, an awareness bike rally was organised from Raghunath City Mall with the cooperation of the Police and Transport Department.
The awareness rally participants were administered the safety oath by Anita Chand, Divisional Transport Officer, Almora, and CO, Almora, and the rally was flagged off. The rally started from Raghunath City Mall and passed through Taxi Stand Tiraha, Jalal Tiraha, Base Tiraha, Karbala and concluded back at Raghunath City Mall.
Information was provided about traffic rules, signals, Raahveer Yojana 2025, rewarding Raahveer – Good Samaritan. A person who helps a road accident victim within the golden period of one hour, such a person would be selected under the “Raahveer” scheme being run under the Road Safety Cell of the Ministry of Transport and Highways, Government of India and given cash up to Rs 25,000 and a certificate, etc. Pamphlets and posters on the subject were also distributed. Rashmi Bhatt, Assistant Divisional Transport Officer, Almora, Adhikar Mitra and policemen, etc., were also present.
