Dehradun, 12 May: A congregation of poets was held on 11 May at Pritam Road to commemorate the birth anniversary of the late Dr Girija Shanker Trivedi, the noted writer, journalist and poet of Uttarakhand.
It was organised by Kavi Kumbh and Navodit Swar. The function was presided over by Dr Sudha Pandey and Dr Budhi Nath Misra was the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries included Brig KG Behl (Retd), Aasim Shukla, Ranjitha Singh and Rajnish Trivedi on the dais. They all recalled their relations with Dr Trivedi, bringing out different aspects of his life. Kamla Pant also spoke on the occasion.
Brig Behl recited a poem, ‘Anekta mein Ekta’, which Dr Trivedi had very much liked and got published in the Hindi Sahitya Samiti journal.
The book, ‘Shabd Kavi Kumbh’, written by Ranjitha Singh was released by all the dignitaries present. Then started the Saras Kavya Smaroh at which many noted poets of the town including Dr Ram Vinay, Vidya Singh, Jay Prakash Tripathi, Dr Neel Prabha Verma, Dr Bharti Verma, Suresh Byala, Shaadab, Ashutosh, Satish Bansal, Nita Kukreti, Gyanendra, Raghvesh Pandey, Amber Kharbanda, Kaanta, Shivmohan and others recited their creations.
