School delegations call on Gov

Dehradun, 22 Sep: Delegations from Anglo-Indian Schools in Uttarakhand paid a courtesy call on the Governor, Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd), at the Raj Bhavan, here, today.
On this occasion, the Governor held a meaningful dialogue with the members of the delegations on social, educational, and contemporary issues. Highlighting the vital role of schools in nation-building, he said that education is not merely a means of acquiring knowledge but also the foundation for character building and bringing about positive change in society.
According to former Anglo-Indian MLA and owner of Carman School, Dalanwala, GIG Mann, “The Governor spoke highly of the Contribution the Christian Schools in general and the schools run by the Anglo-Indian Community in particular had made in India which is appreciated and much sought after even today all over the country. He assured that he would do whatever he can within the framework of the constitution of India to ensure the continued progress and safety of these institutions”.
The Principal of St Joseph’s Academy Bro Joseph M; David Hilton of Hilton School, Majra; GIG Mann; and Michelle Gardner of St Jude’s School, Majra were present on the occasion.
