Adityanath, Dhami inaugurate new building of Yamkeshwar Inter College

Yamkeshwar (Pauri), 6 Feb: Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath jointly inaugurated the newly constructed two-storey building of Inter College Yamkeshwar, here today. Prior to the programme, both the CMs offered prayers and performed ritual worship at the ancient Shiva temple located at Yamkeshwar, seeking happiness, prosperity and public welfare for the State. Thereafter, the two leaders inspected the newly constructed building of Inter College Yamkeshwar.

Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Dhami said that knowledge is the greatest ornament of human life. He emphasised that education is not merely a means to obtain degrees or employment, but a foundation for the development of values, consciousness and moral strength. He asserted that over the past four years, the Uttarakhand Government has provided government employment to more than 28,000 youths. He added that the government is continuously working towards inclusive development through strengthening educational infrastructure, ensuring quality education and promoting innovation. He said the newly constructed Inter College building would prove to be a milestone in the educational development of the region and would provide a better learning environment for students. He reiterated that the government’s objective is to build self-reliant, aware and responsible citizens through education.

Dhami said that CM Yogi Adityanath has emerged as a source of inspiration for the entire country in the fields of security, good governance and development. He said it was a matter of pride for the region that Yogi Adityanath had received his early education from this very area and has today established a distinct identity as a strong national leader. He described his life as an inspiring example of service, sacrifice and dedication to national interest.

While addressing the programme, Adityanath said that material development is not the ultimate goal of life, but only a means to fulfil essential needs. He stated that the role of schools should not be confined to textbook knowledge alone, but must also focus on nurturing values, culture and spiritual consciousness. Referring to the ancient Gurukul tradition, he said it served as a strong foundation for holistic personality development. Mentioning the National Education Policy (NEP), he said special emphasis has been laid on practical and skill-based education and added that the Uttarakhand Government is doing commendable work in this direction. He stressed that just as the quality of the building has been ensured, the quality of teaching must also be of a high standard. He said innovation in education would lead to comprehensive development of villages and enable effective control over migration. Emphasising self-reliance, he stated that only by rising above the tendency of dependence on others can a strong and empowered society be built.

On the occasion, Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat extended his congratulations on dedicating the newly constructed building to the public and stressed the importance of quality education. Cabinet Minister Dhan Singh Rawat provided information on the current status of the school and assured that due process would be followed regarding provincialisation. Local MLA Renu Bisht raised the demand for provincialisation of the school and the commencement of science classes.

During the programme, both the CMs also honoured meritorious students of the school. The students felicitated included Naman Rawat of Class 6, Harsh Chauhan of Class 7, Aarti Chauhan of Class 8, Sachin Badola of Class 9, Dipali of Class 10, Abhishek Badola of Class 11 and Pallavi of Class 12. Among those present on the occasion included District Magistrate Swati S Bhadoria, SSP Sarvesh Panwar, public representatives, officers, employees and a large number of local residents.
