Dehradun, 20 May: In a bid to empower the youth and underprivileged communities, Dehradun-based SDC Foundation has partnered with Ramboll to launch ‘Project Pahal’—a nine-month initiative focused on social education and capacity building.
Project Pahal is built on four key pillars: digital literacy, entrepreneurship, social leadership, and career development. The aim is to equip young participants with practical skills, enhance their employability, and nurture them into confident, socially aware citizens.
The training modules will cover essential areas such as storytelling, innovation, the use of AI for career growth, problem-solving, leadership, and digital literacy. Participants will also be sensitised to critical social issues like gender-based violence, climate change, and mental health, enabling them to design inclusive solutions at the grassroots level.
Speaking at the launch event, Chief Guest Sudhir Sahni, an active leader in the corporate and social sectors, said, “The youth of Uttarakhand have immense potential. With the right skills and guidance, they can become champions of inclusive development. Project Pahal will support them in pursuing their efforts and aspirations.”
Special guest Anup Badola, who has over four decades of experience in the fields of health and education, remarked, “Project Pahal is not just about skill development. It is an attempt to instil confidence and curiosity in youth who are often preoccupied with the struggle for survival. It will give them a platform to learn, express their ideas, and lead.”
Anoop Nautiyal, Founder of SDC Foundation, expressed his gratitude to Ramboll and stated that Project Pahal represents a new beginning for the Foundation. He hoped that in the days to come, the initiative will be scaled further, enabling SDC Foundation to contribute meaningfully to youth development in Uttarakhand.
During the event, SDC Foundation experts Rishabh Srivastava and Gautam Kumar conducted interactive sessions with the participants. Also present were community members and Prerna Raturi, Dinesh Semwal, Pyare Lal, and Praveen Upreti from SDC Foundation.
