Pauri Garhwal, 26 Jun: Secretary, Departments of Sanskrit Education, Census and Programme Implementation, Deepak Kumar chaired a district-level review meeting at the District Development Bhawan to assess the progress of key government schemes. He directed officials to ensure timely, quality-driven and result-oriented implementation of development programmes, emphasising that the benefits of welfare schemes must reach the last person through innovative approaches.
The Secretary instructed all departments to display office nameplates in Sanskrit alongside existing signage. He also advised officials to stay overnight in areas they visit during public grievance camps and village outreach programmes to better understand local issues and ensure effective resolution. Regular inspection of subordinate offices was also stressed.
Reviewing the agriculture sector, he directed the Agriculture, Horticulture, Dairy, Watershed and Fisheries departments to jointly develop an integrated farming model. Three development blocks have been asked to prepare pilot models by July, with an action plan for implementation across all blocks by September.
The meeting also reviewed work on the Chief Minister’s announcements, the Chief Minister’s Helpline, the National Rural Livelihood Mission, tourism, health, education, PMGSY and other departmental schemes. The Secretary instructed officials to expedite the Satpuli Lake project, develop Syunsi Lake on similar lines, resolve pending tourism subsidy cases through coordination with banks, and recognise the district’s top-performing Lakhpati Didi self-help groups.
Highlighting cyber security as a priority, he directed departments to launch extensive awareness campaigns on cyber fraud, promote the national cyber helpline 1930, organise awareness programmes in schools and colleges, and strengthen action against illegal drug trafficking through intensified monitoring and inspections at bus terminals and railway stations.
