Mussoorie, 23 Jul: A Shrimad Bhagwat Katha has begun in the famous Nag Devta temple of Mussoorie. This auspicious occasion started with a unique and devotional Kalash Yatra on Wednesday morning, in which hundreds of devotees participated and painted the whole atmosphere in the colour of faith. Women dressed in traditional attire for the Kalash Yatra started the journey with auspicious songs and bhajans and kirtans, carrying kalash on their heads. This also gave this journey a festive look with the proclamation of Jai Nagraj. Starting from Bhatta village, this yatra reached Nag Mandir via Mussoorie Lake, where the devotees were warmly welcomed.
Shrimad Bhagwat Katha is being organised in Nag Mandir from 23 to 29 July (Nag Panchami), which is being recited by the famous Katha Vachak Acharya Brijesh Jagudi.
Sudhanshu Rawat, Secretary, Nag Mandir Samiti, stated that this event is organised regularly by the committee every year in the month of Sawan, and this time also devotees are participating with full enthusiasm. The committee has urged all the devotees to get the blessings of Nag Devta on the day of Nag Panchami (29 July) and join the huge Bhandara. There will be special worship, Rudrabhishek and Sankirtan.
On the occasion, temple committee president Bhim Singh Rawat, Ajay Jadwan, Dheeraj Rawat, Shamsher Singh Rawat, Deepanshu Thakur, Pritam Jadwan, Arjun Kotal, Santosh Singh Thapali, Rakesh Rawat, Ashish Rawat, Himmat Thapali, along with a large number of women, youth and senior citizens were also present.
