Speaker conducts surprise inspection of Govt Base Hospital, Kotdwar

Kotdwar, 1 Sep: Speaker of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly and Kotdwar MLA Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, today, conducted a surprise inspection of the Chandra Mohan Singh Negi Government Combined (Base) Hospital located on the Kotdwar–Badrinath Road, as well as the Primary Health Centre at Lalpani and the Urban Primary Health Centre at Gadighat, to review the arrangements and facilities available there.

During the inspection, she interacted with patients to learn about their problems and the hospital facilities. She stated that, recently, the Kotdwar Base Hospital has been strengthened with the appointment of 2 new orthopaedic doctors, 2 gynaecology specialists, and 3 anaesthesia specialists, leading to improvement in healthcare services and ensuring better treatment facilities for patients.

While inspecting the hospital premises, Bhushan expressed displeasure over serious lapses in cleanliness and directed the hospital administration to take immediate corrective measures. She said that a clean and safe environment is the right of every patient and no negligence in this regard would be tolerated.

In addition, she inspected the Primary Health Centres at Lalpani and Gadighat and interacted with the staff. She directed that patients must be provided timely and quality healthcare services, and that adequate availability of essential medicines and resources ensured.

She emphasised that improving healthcare facilities is her top priority and that the government is continuously striving to provide quality medical services to the citizens of Kotdwar region.

On this occasion, CMS Vijay Singh, Dr Dinesh Singh, Dr Dhyani, MLA representative Jitendra Negi, Kamal Negi, Mandal President Vikasdeep Mittal, Ashish Rawat, along with other public representatives and officials were among those present.
