Special worship held at Kedarnath for welfare of Indian soldiers

Kedarnath (Rudraprayag), 9 May: Amid heightened ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack, prayers are being offered across the country for the safety and strength of the Indian Army. In this spirit, a special Rudrabhishek was performed today at Kedarnath Dham, also, invoking divine blessings for Operation Sindoor and the Indian armed forces. The temple premises resonated with chants in praise of Baba Kedar and the Indian Army.

Officials from the Badri-Kedar Temple Committee (BKTC), members of Kedar Sabha, Teertha Purohits, and police personnel participated in the sacred ritual, praying for the success of Operation Sindoor and the protection of soldiers.

Speaking with the media in Dehradun, BKTC President Hemant Dwivedi described Operation Sindoor as a symbol of bravery, stating that special prayers were conducted at Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham for national security. He asserted that the Kedarnath Yatra is proceeding smoothly.

BKTC Chief Executive Officer Vijay Prasad Thapliyal, who was present at Kedarnath Dham, expressed hope for an early resolution to the tense situation. He reiterated the commitment to ensuring a safe pilgrimage and gathered feedback from devotees.

Dwivedi also shared that he would be on a Badri-Kedar tour from11 May, during which he will inspect travel arrangements, including darshan facilities and passenger rest houses along the pilgrimage routes. He will also perform special pujas at various temples.
