SSP transfers Vikasnagar Kotwal for failing to report accurately on incideent

Dehradun, 16 Mar: SSP Ajai Singh has removed the Vikasnagar Kotwal from his post for not providing correct information about an incident. Vinod Gusain was appointed as the new officer in-charge on Sunday. This action has been taken with regard to a fire at a restaurant in Badamwala, Vikasnagar. The SSP has attached the former in-charge to the office.

According to reports, the restaurant was operating in Badamwala with small thatched huts for seating. On 14 March, a fight broke out between two groups over food. During the fight, one group set fire to the thatched cabins. The fire spread quickly and soon engulfed the entire restaurant. Everything inside was destroyed. People at the scene panicked, and the fire brigade was called. Firefighters arrived and managed to control the fire, but the restaurant was completely burned down.

A case was registered against the accused, but no legal action was taken. According to the information, the senior officials were not given the correct details about the incident. “Inspector Vinod Gusain, in charge of the Special Operations Group (SOG), was appointed as the new Kotwal of Vikasnagar. The police have assured strict action against those responsible,” the SSP said.

This incident has become a topic of discussion in the area, with locals questioning the efficiency of the police. People believe that such disputes should be resolved in time, preventing major losses. The police are now preparing to take strict action and have assured that the culprits will soon be brought to justice.
