DEHRADUN, 25 Oct: St Patrick’s Academy held its 3rd Annual Sports Day for Classes 3-9, here, today. All the students participated with a great zeal and passion in the different activities under the eager eyes of their parents. Dr AK Shivastava, Vice Chairman, MDDA, was the Chief Guest. He was received by Bro Joseph. Bro Jerome, the Director of Patrician College for Women, was the Guest of Honour. The event began with the flag raising ceremony. The army band, gloriously attired, played powerful music. Soon after, the lighting of the torch ceremony began with the torch being carried by the children of the school who have excelled in different sports categories at the district or regional levels. The programme was interspersed with energetic drills, scintillating dances and jaw-dropping pyramid formations. Dr AK Srivastava lauded the efforts of the School for organising such a well coordinated programme and urged the students to devote more time to sports and games. After the March Past, the winners were awarded. The children of McMahon House were jubilant at winning the trophy.
