‘Startup Uttarakhand’ Boot Camp begins at Graphic Era

Dehradun, 21 May: The ‘Startup Uttarakhand’ Boot Camp has begun at Graphic Era Hill University.

In this two-day boot camp, experts will train students in skills required to launch successful startups. Such boot camps are being organised in various districts across the state. Graphic Era was selected to host the camp in Dehradun.

On the first day, today, addressing the inaugural session, Vice Chancellor, Graphic Era Deemed University, Dr Narpinder Singh said that students are coming up with startup ideas to solve burning issues of the country and state. This includes various sectors including health, environment, education, augmented reality, virtual reality and agriculture. He said that, in Graphic Era, students interested in startups not only receive moral support, expert guidance but monetary help also.

Experts will teach students about various stages of turning an idea into a successful startup. These experts include CEO of Technology Innovation & Developing Entrepreneurship Society (TIDES), IIT Roorkee, Azam Ali Khan, Programme Manager Tanuj Dani, and CEO of Fermentech Labs Dr Siddharth Arora.

The boot camp is being organised by Directorate of Industries, GOI, in association with District Industries Centre (DIC), TIDES and Graphic Era. Graphic Era Chief Executive officer of Technology Business Incubator (TBI) Sarishma Dangi, General Manager, DIC, Anjani Rawat Negi, Manager Siddharth Negi and students were present at the boot camp.
