State Level Elocution Competition held by Nehru Yuva Kendra

DEHRADUN 3 Jan: Nehru Yuva Kendra of Uttarakhand organised a state level seminar on Patriotism and Nation Building on 2 January at Hindi Bhavan, in which around 100 youths participated. An elocution competition was held on the occasion in which 10 competitors elucidated their ideas on Patriotism and Nation Building. The speakers came from far flung areas of the state such as Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi, Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Tehri, Pauri Garhwal, Nainital and Haridwar.
Dr Suchismita Sengupta Pandey, Member Secretary of the State Food Security Commission, was the Chief Guest and the programme was presided over by Balwinder Khosa, State Director NYKS. Ravindra Mohan Kala, Secretary, Bharat Scouts and Guides, was also present.
M Tolia, District Youth Welfare Coordinator, anchored the programme. Himani Durgapal of Almora was first, Renu Topwal, second, and Diwakar Mohan, Nainital, third.
Chief Guest Dr Suchismita Sengupta Pandey highlighted the guiding principles of Nation Building by quoting Swami Vivekanand. She also quoted inspiring anecdotes from life of Sir CV Raman, Vikram Sarabhai, Mokshagundam Visveswaraiya, Dr Anandi Gopal Joshi and other stalwarts. Balwinder Khosa wished the youth a bright future.
